Workshop 1: Get Your Dream Job in Germany: The Application / 05/06/2025 16:00-20:00 pm

Are you eager to apply for your dream job or the perfect internship but don’t know where to start? Do you want to impress with professional application documents but aren’t sure how to stand out from the crowd? Do you have specific questions about the application process in Germany or your application documents and wish to consult an expert?

Then you’ve come to the right place! Julia Barden (www.juliabarden.com), a psychologist with professional experience in the HR departments of companies like Deutsche Bahn and Commerzbank, supports individuals in both career orientation and the entire application process. She is the author of books and Udemy courses focused on the German job market.

This workshop will cover the following topics:

Job search strategies
Analysis of job descriptions
Writing a convincing cover letter
Writing and designing a CV
Creating an appealing LinkedIn and Xing profile

The best part of the workshop is that theory is immediately followed by practice: during the workshop, you will search for a suitable position, analyze the job advertisement, draft a cover letter (in bullet points), and update your CV according to German standards. There will also be enough time for individual questions.

In line with the workshop’s design, theory is immediately followed by practice: you will choose a job that interests you and analyze the job advertisement based on the instructions provided. Next, you will learn about the most frequently asked interview questions and response strategies, taking notes on how you can answer them. After covering how to determine a realistic salary expectation and approach salary negotiations strategically, you’ll define your salary expectation for the chosen position. There will also be time to address your individual questions.

Both workshops will be held online.
